Audits are not the goal. Fixes are. This one-day audit focuses on the highest-leverage issues and skips the trivia.
1. Crawl health
- Validate robots.txt — no accidental disallow on key sections.
- Run a crawler (Sitebulb, Screaming Frog) and look at 4xx/5xx volumes.
- Check sitemap.xml: 200, fresh, references only canonical URLs.
2. Index health
- Search Console > Indexing > Pages: review reasons for exclusion.
- Spot-check canonical clusters with site: queries.
- Audit duplicate content across faceted nav.
3. Rendering
Test with the URL Inspection tool: rendered HTML should contain your primary content and links. Heavy JS-dependent rendering is still the silent killer.
4. Performance
PageSpeed Insights on your top 10 templates. Fix the worst INP regression first — it is almost always a third-party script.
5. Schema
Validate Article, FAQPage, Organization and Product. Fix every error; warnings can wait.
